Full-Time Fixed-Term Receptionist – Vetcall Ashmore

Contract Dates: 19 October 2026 – 21 July 2027
Weekend Requirement: 1 in 2 weekend shifts

Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and looking to build a career within the veterinary industry?

Vetcall Ashmore is seeking a warm, organised and enthusiastic Full-Time Fixed-Term Receptionist to join our Client Care team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an experienced and supportive veterinary hospital team, working alongside 7 experienced veterinarians and 7 dedicated nurses in a busy and rewarding environment.

Our Client Care team plays a vital role in the success of our clinic. As the first and last point of contact for many of our clients, you will help create a positive and supportive experience for pets and their families while ensuring the clinic operates smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a close-knit veterinary team — not just work behind a reception desk.

Fixed-term Full-time Receptionist position with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Receptionist at Vetcall Ashmore, you will be responsible for supporting our clients throughout their veterinary journey, including:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a direct client facing position in a veterinary or medical environment
  • Ability to coordinate animal medical cases and priorities with the veterinary team
  • Experience managing appointment books and scheduling software
  • Ability to engage and educate clients on our services and wellness programs
  • Advanced account skills managing estimates, invoicing and payment options
  • Maintain standards of care through records, reminders and recalls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with both clients and team members
  • Maintaining information and records in accordance with our privacy standards
  • Vibrant, compassionate and warm nature to put our clients and pets at ease
  • Coordinate our social media, campaigns and google requirements
  • Maintain work health and safety compliance with visitors, suppliers and trades
  • Ensure our reception and waiting area is always clean and well presented

You will also have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of veterinary services, preventative healthcare, pet wellbeing and the overall client journey while developing valuable skills in communication, customer service, appointment management and veterinary practice operations.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a Certificate II in Animal Studies or equivalent qualification
  • Has a genuine interest in animal health and wellbeing
  • Is warm, confident and enjoys helping people
  • Has strong communication and customer service skills
  • Is organised, adaptable and able to remain calm during busy periods
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Is eager to learn, grow and build a career within the veterinary industry

Experience in a veterinary or customer-focused environment will be highly regarded, but we are also looking for the right attitude, willingness to learn and passion for providing excellent care.

Why Join Vetcall Ashmore?

At Vetcall Ashmore, we believe our people are just as important as the care we provide. When you join our team, you’ll enjoy:

  • Joining an experienced, supportive and genuinely collaborative veterinary team
  • Working in a busy, established veterinary hospital where every day brings something new
  • Building your knowledge of veterinary care, pet health and the client journey alongside experienced vets and nurses
  • Being part of a team that values compassionate patient care and outstanding client service
  • Developing your skills in client care, communication, veterinary systems and practice operations
  • Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow as your confidence and skills develop
  • Access to training and career development opportunities through Vetcall and the wider VetPartners group
  • Being part of a clinic that values improvement, innovation and delivering the best possible experience for pets, clients and team members

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a meaningful career in the veterinary industry and become an integral part of a team that genuinely values their contribution.

If you are ready to bring your passion for people, pets and exceptional service to Vetcall Ashmore, we would love to hear from you.
